SEE Examination || Class 10 || Math 

According to the SEE Level Examination syllabus, the final examination will consist of 16 questions. To help students prepare effectively, we have provided practice questions organized according to the question numbers. 

These questions are designed to give students a better understanding of the exam pattern and help them practice each section of the Mathematics examination. 

For Question No. 1

1. In an examination, 40% of students who passes in Math only, 30% passed in Science only and 10% student failed in both subjects. If 200 students passed in Science, find the total number of students by drawing venn-diagram. (Ans. Total number of students = 400)

2. In a certain examination, 50% students passed in Account, 30% students passed in English, 30% failed in both subjects and 25 passed in both subjects. By drawing venn diagram, find the number of students who passed in Account only. Ans. 100

3. In a survey one third children like only mango and 22 don't like mango at all. Also 2/5 children like orange but 12 like none of them.

  • Show the above data in a venn diagram. 
  • How many children like both types of fruit? Find it. Ans 8
4. In a survey of group of students, it was found that 60 liked to listen the poems, 45 liked to listen the stories, 25 liked to listen both and 10 did not like to listen both.
  • What group of students lie in the complement part of the set, while representing them in a venn - diagram? Ans . 10 [1]
  • How many students were liked to listen the story only? Ans. 20 [1]
  • Find the difference between the total number of students who like to listen at least one. Ans.10 [3]
  • By what percentage are the students who like to listen only to poems less or more than the students who like to listen only to stories? Find it. Ans. 16.66% [1]
Hints: percentage of students who like only poem = 35/90*100 = 38.88% and percentage of students who like only stories = 20/90*100 = 22.22% and then difference in percentage = 16.66%

For Question No. 2

1. A invested Rs. 25,000 for 3 yrs at the rate of 12% simple interest per annum and B invested the same amount for the same time at the rate of 10% annual compound interest.
  • According to compound interest, A is the amount. r is the rate of percent per annum and T is the time. What will be the principal? Ans. = p= A/(1+r/100)t [1]
  • Calculate the interest received by A. Ans. Rs. 9000 [1]
  • Calculate the interest received by B. Ans. Rs. 8275 [2]
  • Without altering time and rate of interest, how much more or less money should A has to invest for equal interest? Ans. Rs. 22986.11 [1]

Hint: A means Simple Interest.

2. The difference between the compound interest and simple interest on a sum of money for 2 years at the interest rate of 5% per annum is Rs. 30.

  • The semi - annual compound interest on a certain sum 'm' in 't' years at the rate of r% compound interest is CI. Write the relation between m, t, r and CI. [1]
  • Find the principal. Hint: CI-SI = 30 (Ans. Rs. 12,000) [2]
  • Find the compound interest. Hint : CI = 0.1025*P (Ans. Rs. 1230) [1]
3. A man deposited Rs. 5000 in a bank at the rate of 6% per annum for 2 years, interest payable yearly,
  • Write down the formula to calculate CI on a sum P in T years and M month at R% per annum.[1]
  • How much compound interest will a man has to pay? Rs. 618  [2]
  • Find the difference between simple and compound interest. Ans. Rs. 18 [2]
Hint : year and month formula write in first number. 


For Question No. 3 

1. In the beginning of 2072 B.S., the population of a town was 50,000. 
If the annual population growth rate is 10%, what will be the population of the town at the end of 2074 B.S. ? Find it. 
Ans. 66,550. Hint: T=  3 years

2. The population of a city at present is 50,000 and 
it grows at the rate of 3% per year, what will be the population after 2 years?
Ans. 53,045
